The Wisconsin Card Sorting Test (WCST) is widely recognized for its application in evaluating perseveration and abstract reasoning. Additionally, it serves as an important measure of executive function due to its sensitivity to frontal lobe impairments.

Test Instructions: 
Participants are presented with cards that feature three stimulus parameters: color, symbol, and number. They are tasked with sorting these cards based on varying principles and must adapt their strategies throughout the testing process.

Results: 
Outcomes are quantified by the time taken to complete the task, measured in seconds, and the total number of errors made. Consequently, higher completion times and error rates indicate greater cognitive impairment.

The WCST effectively evaluates a respondent's strategic planning abilities, organized searching strategies, and their capacity to leverage environmental feedback to adjust cognitive styles. This includes directing behavior toward goal attainment and managing impulsive responses.

Rough Standards: 
Scores may vary based on age or gender, but the average performance is typically completed within 120 seconds, with an average of 10 errors.
